The Guadalupe River runs through Texas, starting in Kerr Country and ends all the way in the San Antonio Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. With several dams along its length, the river gives way to several lakes. Between the river and the lakes, the river is a popular destination for those who enjoy recreational water activities as well as those looking for a good, old-fashioned family vacation.
For starters, the Guadalupe River is a great location for rafting, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and all sorts of fishing.  Two popular types of fishing often seen on the river is fly fishing and trout fishing. Anyone who enjoys a quiet, relaxing day on the river banks will find a lot to love about the river.  Besides the whole host of locations to find water sport equipment and activities, there are many locations along the Guadalupe River that have beautiful parks and campgrounds. Many people like to picnic and camp along the river. Guests get to choose from a variety of campgrounds and cabins that overlook the scenic river for a relaxing, fun filled weekend. For those who aren’t into the rugged way of “roughing it,” there are dozens of hotels to choose from along the river as well.

There is so much to see and do along the Guadalupe River that you will not be able to do it all in one day. A good trip would consist of several days spent relaxing on the river and checking out all of its parks and sports. The Guadalupe River has it all.
